What's New in Tidy v2.3 and v2.4: Clean by Album, Daily Challenges & More
Listen for a second. If you have ever opened your photo library and thought "no way I'm dealing with this today" — this update was built for you. v2.3 and v2.4 changed the rules: you can finally pick a single album, run AI on it, and finish in 3 minutes. No more facing 30,000 photos at once. Pick an album, clean it, get on with your life.
And that is just the headline. There is also a full challenge system now — daily, weekly, monthly — with progression levels from Rookie to Legend. Cleaning became a game. And games are the kind of thing people come back to. Here is the full story.

⭐ The Big One: Clean a Specific Album (v2.4)
This was the #1 most-requested feature since we launched version 2. Every single day we received messages along the lines of: "I don't want to scan my entire library. I just want to handle the WhatsApp album." We heard you. We listened. We built it.
Now, when you open Tidy, you can pick one album, and all of Tidy's magic focuses there. Your Camera Roll? The WhatsApp folder? "Greece Vacation 2024"? Screenshots? Pick it — and Tidy sees nothing beyond that.
Why does this matter? Because our brains are not wired to handle 50,000 photos at once. But 800 photos in your WhatsApp folder? Suddenly that is doable. Splitting the problem is the solution. Instead of one massive, intimidating gallery operation, you now have 20 small, achievable missions.

Update to Tidy 2.4. Pick an album, run a filter, see results in minutes. Daily challenges, levels, and everything that landed in this release — waiting for you.
⚡ The Real Magic: Filters on Your Chosen Album (v2.4)
Here is where things get genuinely exciting. Album cleaning is not just "Tidy works on a smaller batch." All of Tidy's smart filters work on the album you chose, and only that album:
- 🌫️ Blurry photos — Find only the blurs in this specific album. No mixing in intentionally-blurred shots from elsewhere.
- 👯 Duplicates and similar shots — AI detects duplicates within the chosen album. No false positives from photos in other folders.
- 📱 Old screenshots — A folder full of screenshots that piled up? Clean it in 90 seconds.
- 🤳 Selfies and faces — Smart content sorting inside the album you picked.
- 🎬 Videos — Find the heavy videos eating storage in a specific album.
Real-World Scenarios
Here is how this plays out in practice:
- Scenario 1: The WhatsApp folder. Pick the WhatsApp album → activate the "Blurry" filter → get only the blurs from WhatsApp. One minute of work, hundreds of megabytes freed. If WhatsApp photos have eaten your storage, there is finally a surgical way to handle it.
- Scenario 2: The screenshot black hole. A Screenshots folder with 2,000 images? Pick it, swipe fast. Five minutes later you free up a gigabyte.
- Scenario 3: That trip. Back from a vacation with 1,500 photos? Pick the trip album → run the duplicates filter → keep only the best ones. A clean, beautiful album, ready to share.
- Scenario 4: Instagram and stories galleries. Folders auto-created by social apps? Clean them separately without touching your "real" photos.
This is not an addition. This is a revolution in how Tidy works. Cleaning became modular.
🎯 Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Challenges (v2.3)
In v2.2 we added weekly challenges. You loved them. So now you have three parallel layers working together:
- 📅 Daily challenge — A small task per day. 2-3 minutes. "Delete 10 blurry photos." "Review 50 photos." A size that fits even a busy day.
- 🗓️ Weekly challenge — A bigger goal you build toward over the week. "Free 1 GB." "Review 500 photos." Clear target, comfortable window.
- 📆 Monthly challenge — The big one. Demands consistency, rewards accordingly. Finishing a monthly challenge means you actually built a habit.
The layers work in parallel and feed each other — a daily challenge you completed can also count toward weekly and monthly. You get a stream of small wins on the way to a big one. This daily/weekly/monthly structure is exactly what turns cleaning from "something I should do" into "something I do."
🏆 Progression Levels: From Rookie to Legend (v2.3.1)
Every challenge you finish = XP in your pocket. Enough XP = next level. The path:
Rookie → Cleaner → Pro → Master → Champion → Legend
The levels are not arbitrary game-y points. Each one marks real time and consistency you invested. You don't reach Legend overnight. Whoever gets there built a habit. And when you open the app and see your title, there is a feeling. A small thing carrying real weight.
If you enjoyed our cleaning gamification, levels are the natural evolution. Now there is something to show.
✨ Redesigned Share Cards (v2.3)
We rebuilt every share card — weekly recap, challenge completion, achievements, storage milestones. New color palettes that pop more, image sizing fixed across every screen and size, and every card is genuinely worth posting as a story.
It's easy to dismiss share-card design. But when your card looks good, you share it. When you share, you reinforce the habit — and you help one friend who maybe just needed to discover this app.
🔧 Stability Improvements (v2.3.1, v2.3.3, v2.3.4)
Between v2.3 and v2.4 we shipped three maintenance releases. Not glamorous, but important:
- v2.3.1 — Launched the XP and level system, plus targeted fixes
- v2.3.3 — Fixed a rare crash on the upgrade screen, hardened the engine running daily/weekly/monthly challenges
- v2.3.4 — Additional stability work, more reliable post-session experience
Why this matters: we don't ship and run. Every release gets watched, and if something is not smooth — there is a fix in days, not months. We built Tidy this way because we use it.
Why All of This Matters
Plenty of cleanup apps promise "AI" and "smart" and end up giving you a list of photos to confirm one by one. Tidy is different. In v2.4 it became a surgical analysis tool: pick a region (album), pick a goal (filter), get precise results tailored to a specific operation.
Add the challenge layers and progression levels, and you have something competitors don't: an app that makes you come back. Photo gallery cleaning is not a one-time event. It's a habit. And Tidy is now designed to help you keep that habit.
What's Next?
Version 2 launched on March 8. We are now on 2.4, on May 5. Five major versions in less than two months. The pace is not slowing.
In the works: more AI improvements, more challenges, and features we are not ready to reveal yet (but stay tuned). In the meantime — update the app on the App Store or Google Play, open one album, and feel the difference.
Got an idea? A request? A bug bothering you? Write to us — we read every message. And if you are enjoying it, a short review on either store helps other people discover the app more than you might think. Thank you. Really.
